Four Elements, Blown Glass / Lampwork, Pendant Necklace
I made the glass pendant using Italian soft glass in the colors representing Earth, Wind, Fire, and Water, the four Elements. The earth is made using ivory glass with a small amount of green around the edge of the water. The fire is a dark color with smoky hews with the blue sky above it representing wind. The water is laced with goldstone giving it sparkle and murrine representing aquatic life. When I was done blowing the glass I annelid it in a kiln for 14 hours.
After the kiln cycle, I created copper wire work around the pendant and made a breaded cord to hang it on. The clasp is a lobster claw and I soldered the loops attaching the clasp for longevity.
The cord is about 20" long the pendant is 2.22" from the top of the loop to the bottom of the pendant, 1.64" wide and 0.65" thick.
Thank you for supporting my work and our small business.
Have a fun and wonderful day,
Rae
More about us:
We are full-time artists with extensive backgrounds in the high-tech industry, which helps us with the technical aspects of our artwork and glass blowing. We love to incorporate science into our functional art pieces.
Our small organic farm overlooks the Bitterroot Mountains with several buildings dedicated to our work-from-home lifestyle. The Steampunk Shop is Rae’s creative space; the Torch Shop is where we blow our glass, and the Big Shop is for general mad science and Bill's electronics lab.
Since 1993, our work has produced glass art, including hand-blown contemporary marbles, hummingbird feeders, and Pixie Orb ornaments.
We are spreading love and harmony - one piece of art at a time.
