Blown Glass Necklace, Lampwork Pendant, Gold Rivers
To create the pendant, I first made (hand-blown lampwork torch work) I made a ribbon cane using gold stone and laced it over a periwinkle base, then added more colors of blue to the bead. To make this, I used soft Italian glass. When I was done, the glass was annealed for 14 hours in a kiln.
After annealing, I added a crystal and strung the pendant on a waxed cotton cord with a silver lobster claw clasp. The cord is about 20" long; the pendant is 2.25" long, about 0.86" wide, and 0.33" thick.
Thank you for supporting my art and our small business,
Rae
More about us:
We are full-time artists with extensive backgrounds in the high-tech industry, which helps us with the technical aspects of our artwork and glass blowing. We love to incorporate science into our functional art pieces.
Our small organic farm overlooks the Bitterroot Mountains with several buildings dedicated to our work-from-home lifestyle. The Steampunk Shop is Rae’s creative space; the Torch Shop is where we blow our glass; the Big Shop is for general mad science and Bill's electronics lab.
Since 1993, our work has produced glass art, including hand-blown contemporary marbles, hummingbird feeders, and Pixie Orb ornaments.
We are spreading love and harmony - one piece of art at a time.
